Meet Corretta Woodard, LPC
The People Place Founder
Meet Corretta
Essentially, growing up, both of my parents were addicts. I didn't come from a healthy family. In a lot of ways, this is what has been the driving force my whole life: creating a reality for myself that is opposite from how I grew up.
It's a drive for something that I didn't have, something I so desperately wanted, and something I will never stop striving towards.
Arkansas is where I was born and raised. It's where I said I would leave and never come back to, a place where I left a lot of heartache and pain. I said I never would, but I came home.
I have it on my heart that I might be uniquely equipped to be able to impact the community for the better. This community.
I think a lot about the life I’m creating for my family. The “inheritance package” or legacy that I will leave behind for my children and their children and so on. This is a lot of what gives me the passion to do what I do, not only as a mother, wife, daughter, but also as a therapist.
When asked about the work that I do, there really is no other answer: "Therapy chose me."
